    About our stabilizing polymeric sand

    SuperSand Bond is a unique mixture of polymer binders and a calibrated sand, available in brown or grey. The installation of this polymeric sand is almost identical to using regular paver joint sand, except for the application of water.

    Once SuperSand Bond sets, it becomes very firm and locks between the paver joints. This firm bond maintains pavers securely in place, being equally effective on both horizontal and sloped surfaces. It also withstands erosion due to climatic conditions, such as wind, rain and freezing temperatures. SuperSand Bond is recommended for a variety of uses, including pool sides, patios, foot paths, driveways, parking spaces, pavements, etc.

    Ideal to fill paver joint

    SuperSand Bond has the ability to expand and condense. This elasticity ensures that the paver joints avoid cracking and are properly filled at all times. Thus, it will also help prevent insect penetration and weed sprouting.

    SuperSand Bond should only be used when pavers or tiles are installed on a drainage bed system (stone dust, crushed stone, sand). It is not recommended when pavers or tiles are set above a concrete base.


    Installation is almost identical to using regular sand. The only difference is the application of moisture to ensure saturation of the joint sand. Once SuperSandBond dries the product stabilizes to a firm yet flexible consistency and "locks" permanently into the joints.

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
    Method of application of SuperSand Bond for a new paver job:



    1. Install pavers and compact.
    2. Make sure the top of the pavers are dry. Sweep SuperSand Bond in between the paver joints and then compact.
    3. Sweep off all the excess sand on the paver surface. Insure SuperSand Bond lies below the top of the paver. (repeat step 2 if necessary).
    4. Direct a fine mist of water in the air to dampen all the SuperSand Bond joints. Dampen until there is some water retention on the paver joints (30 seconds).
    5. Minimize or avoid, if possible, walking on the pavers for at least 4 hours after the installation of SuperSand Bond.


    Method of applicaton of SuperSand Bond for an existing paver job:



    1. Pressure wash off all the existing paver joint filling material, from the top of the paver to the bottom.
    2. Do not combine with any other products (follow steps 2 to 5 of new paver job application).


    Paver sand coverage


    30 kg (66,6 lbs) of this paver sand will cover 7.89 to 9.75 square meters (85 to 105 square feet) if joints are narrow or 2.6 to 5.11 square meters (28 to 55 square feet) if joints are wide. Quantity required depends on shape and size of paving stone or slab as well as width of joints.

    NOTE

    Do not apply on wet or damp surface since bonding unit action may cause SuperSand Bond to stick on surface and avoid proper sliding in joint. Do not use if rain is expected within 3 hours. Do not mix SuperSand Bond with cement or any other product. Avoid excessive watering or flooding of paved surfaces. Do not use this product as a mortar substitute.
